Michelle Bull

Michelle Bull, DNP, RN, CNL is a graduate of the Bachelor degree of Nursing (BSN) program at the University of Rhode Island. She earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Clinical Nurse Leadership (CNL) from Sacred Heart University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a focus on systems leadership (DNP) from Rhode Island College. Her doctoral research was focused on the implementation of a resource nurse in the community to increase resources to low-income families to promote healthier living.

She has been a registered nurse for 23 years and a nurse educator for over 10 years. She started at JWU as an Associate Professor in the College of Nursing in 2023. Her clinical practice is primarily in the field of maternal and child health. She has previously taught nursing students in a practical, associate's, traditional and accelerated BSN programs. She has held the positions of course coordinator and department chair at other colleges of nursing. Additionally, she has been a part of developing and teaching in a healthcare interpreter program at a local community college.

She has experience in nursing curriculum development and accreditation processes having served as a ACEN (Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing) peer evaluator.

Teaching Interests

Her passion in teaching is creating an open and inclusive environment for students to feel safe to learn and ask questions. She engages students in active learning strategies that allow them to think outside the box to expand their knowledge base.
